The corridor states north and south treat 15-20 over as expensive-but- ordinary. Virginia sits astride the busiest north-south interstate on the East Coast and enforces its line aggressively — I-95 between DC and Richmond and I-81 down the Shenandoah are national leaders in exactly this charge. Out-of-state defendants then discover the second surprise: you (or a lawyer you now need) generally must deal with a Virginia court, in person or by counsel.
